Mt Rose To Spooner Summit-20 Miles

  Posted by Picasa
On Tuesday 8/8 I road my mountain bike 20 miles from Mt Rose Meadows to Spooner Summit accessing the historic Flume Trail. This ride is more down hill then up hill but does have around 1000 feet of climbing and 2000 feet of descending. It took us 3 ½ out with 2:45 riding time. We had one mechanical a flat that held us up. My riding buddies are Joe and Allen both ski instructors from Heavenly. Joe is a retired school principal and will have his 70 birthday in a couple of months. Joe is an animal going up but likes to keep me in front on the way down. He likes my line.

No back pain at all I feel great. My legs calves and feet are tight and I got quit a calf cramp the night after the ride. I am still resting but may go the gym today and work out a bit.

Forgot my camera so this picture of the Flume Trail will have to do. My altimiter did not work correctly so I will have to do this ride again to post all the correct elevation stats.
